A quaint and simple camping getaway off highway 3 here in Southwestern Ontario. The space was created with the intention to allow you a moment to realign with nature, and disconnect from the rest. With a cute 100 square foot cabin situated on 4 acres of property, you are steps away from a raised overview of Lake Erie. The sounds of the waves accompany you in immersing yourself in the present moment, and create a wholesome and charming experience. Where is The Chakra Shack located?

The Chakra Shack is located in Merlin(Ouvry) Ontario, just 15 minutes from Blenheim and an hour from Windsor. It’s nestled on 4 wooded acres with a raised cliff view of Lake Erie steps away.

Is there a washroom?

Yes, there is an outhouse near the cabin. However, there is no running water or shower unit on the property. I am hoping to have the shower unit ready midsummer 2025.

How many guests does the bunkie sleep?

The space is ideal for 2 adults but can accommodate up to 4 guests under special arrangements. The loft features a cozy queen bed, and the double futon downstairs can sleep 1 additional person (extra sheets are required for the futon).

Is the space pet friendly?

No, the Bunkie is not pet-friendly at this time. It remains hypoallergenic for all guests.

Is there Electricity (A/C & Heat) inside the bunkie?

The Bunkie has limited electricity, including a new electric fireplace heater on the lower level for colder months. There is no air conditioning.

Solar flashlight/bug lamps are provided for lighting after sunset, but guests should bring additional power sources for devices if needed.

Is there beach access from the property?

While there is no direct beach access, the cabin offers a raised overview of Lake Erie, providing stunning views and the peaceful sound of the waves. There will be a beach access point in the works sometime this Spring 2025. In the meantime the nearest access point to the beach is 1 km away (Burn’s Beach)

In my family, my Baba was known as the local tarot reader in her small hometown in Poland, where it was common to use a standard deck of playing cards to interpret signs & symbols. Now I am proud to carry on her gift.

Where did I get my Bunkie?

After deciding to share my 5-acre property with others, I began researching options for a small, cozy cabin to create a unique retreat. I explored several kits, but after watching Dragons’ Den and learning about Bunkie Life, I felt drawn to their offerings. I reached out for more information, and the owner, David, personally called me to discuss the options. This level of care and attention made a lasting impression on me. I was also inspired by the stories of others in Canada and the U.S. running successful Airbnb bunkies.

Bunkie Life specializes in high-quality, easy-to-assemble kits made from kiln-dried Northern Spruce, offering charming and practical designs that are perfect for personal retreats or Airbnb rentals. Their kits are designed to withstand Canadian weather, with features like snow-load-rated roofs and energy-efficient double-pane windows.

In the summer of 2023, I built my Haven Bunkie cabin, & Barrel Sauna, carefully planning the space to create a comfortable, nature-focused retreat. By September 2023, I was ready to welcome guests, and the bunkie has since become a cherished part of my property. It’s a cozy escape that combines intentional design with the tranquility of rural living, perfect for anyone seeking a peaceful getaway.
